Loan Officer, Woodlands Community Lenders

Join a growing nonprofit making a difference by financing small businesses that create jobs. Woodlands Community Lenders (WCL) is on a mission to foster entrepreneurship and community revitalization by providing access to capital and technical assistance to businesses and non-profit organizations in north central West Virginia. WCL is a certified financial development institution (CDFI) with a $2 million loan portfolio and a plan for strong growth over the next three years.
The Loan Officer’s responsibilities include developing a pipeline of potential borrowers, underwriting loan requests, presenting loan recommendations to committee, and assisting with the loan closing process. Other duties include loan monitoring, marketing, and reporting technical assistance and lending data to funders. A key job function is assisting potential borrowers with loan applications and making referrals to technical assistance as needed.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, and three years’ experience in commercial lending, credit analysis or business development. Successful candidates will have the ability to work effectively independently as well as with colleagues, lenders, funders, borrowers, and technical assistance providers. Position requires strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills, including a high level of attention to detail. Experience with Microsoft Office and with loan management software a plus.
This position is a full time salaried position, offering a competitive salary and benefit package including health insurance, retirement and generous paid time off. The position is based in Elkins, West Virginia. Some remote work may be possible after the first six months of employment.
